The aim of this study was to investigate the role of religious beliefs on self-injurious behaviors and emotional dysregulation of adolescents and junior high school students. The study method was a descriptive correlational design. The statistical population of this study was all male junior high school students in District 6 of Mashhad, and the research sample was selected using a multi-stage cluster sampling method. There were 205 people. The research tools included the Klonsky and Glenn Self-Injurious Behavior Questionnaire (2009), the Gratz Emotional Regulation Difficulties Questionnaire (2004), and the George Religious Belief Questionnaire (1998). The research data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and regression tests using SPSS26 software. The results of the study showed that there was a negative and significant relationship between religious beliefs and students' self-injurious behavior. There was also a negative and significant relationship between religious beliefs and students' emotional dysregulation. Also, religious beliefs were able to predict emotional dysregulation by 35% and self-harming behavior by 54%. Therefore, it can be said that religious beliefs of adolescents can predict a decrease or increase in self-harming behavior and emotional dysregulation of adolescents.
